The Mission:
Andrea’s Hope was birthed to promote awareness and provide resources that would not only feed the body but also provide emotional, mental and spiritual nourishment. We seek to inspire hope to the hopeless as they transition into independent living.
The Identity:
In sweltering summer heat, Andrea Everline called Houston’s streets home and lived among the city’s destitute for a week. What began as a project to share their stories through her photography evolved into a mission to impart hope and provide opportunity for those she encountered.
Her love for Christ and her passion for people ignited a burning desire to go beyond observation into active participation. She knew that it was her calling to use her gifts to promote awareness and provide resources that would not only feed the body but also provide emotional, mental and spiritual nourishment as they transitioned into independent living.
Before the birth of Andrea's Hope, Andrea Everline was dedicated to feeding the homeless months on end. After telling her friend Antonio Martinez about what she was doing, he decided to lend a hand to develop the first initiative of Andrea’s Hope, a monthly food distribution in downtown Houston. A group of enthusiastic volunteers gathered to donate and distribute sack lunches. Quickly they realized the magnitude of the need, and the effort grew. An increase in volunteers and donations along with the participation of local grocery stores and businesses aided in expanding the mission.
As the movement of Andrea’s Hope continues to grow, future endeavors include a Christmas concert complete with food, vendors and entertainers, missionary outreach projects in conjunction with local churches, fundraising events including a walk-a-thon, charity basketball game and silent auction featuring the art of some of Houston’s finest artists.
The Distribution
